January was a month with the spirit of ‘New Year, New You,’ and I was looking forward to all the beauty product that are set to release this year. Unfortunately, I was pretty sick for most of January, and I didn’t wear much makeup at all. This month is going to be a little package with some things to use to bring your skin and lips back to life, whether it’s from the weather or from illness!
Formula 10.0.6 Seriously Shine Free Moisturizer
I grabbed this moisturizer on a quick trip to Target. I realized I didn’t have any facial moisturizers, and my skin was so dry from being sick. This one appealed to me because sometimes moisturizers clog pores and cause me to break out. This one is for breakout prone skin, and works wonderfully. (And thankfully it nursed my skin back to health after being so dry!)
ColourPop Ultra Metallic Lipstick
I wrote a whole post on my experience with ColourPop a couple weeks ago, but the formula on these glosses is truly a good one. Glam, which is a gold toned metallic gloss,I wore quite a bit throughout the month. I also loved Coquette for special occasions. With Valentine’s day coming up, maybe there will be more occasions to wear it?
Blistex Medicated Lip Balm
A life saver this month. My lips were getting really dry from windy weather and sickness. I was using Vaseline to try to keep them from getting chapped, but it was coming off too fast. During a round of illness my lips got so dry they split in the center, and I had to change my plan. None of my fun, or fruity lip balms were going to cut it. This one is medicated so it healed my chapped lips quickly. Are we tired of me talking about my lips yet?
NARS Blush – Orgasm
I didn’t buy this item this month, but it’s been in my makeup bag for awhile and I haven’t really gotten into using it. I don’t wear blush very often because n me it looks a little too much for the every day. This month, I did pick up just touching a little on the apple of the cheek, just to break up the face a little bit. I really love this one, I got it as a sample from Sephora. It’s the perfect size for me because there’s no way I would ever use all of one pan. This shade is a peachy pink with gold reflux to it. It blends well with highlighter and highlights the cheeks.
E.L.F. Blush Brush
A new beauty tool in the tool box! The old blush brush I had wasn’t a good shape for what I was trying to do with it, and I found this one worked much better. It’s very soft and the C shape top helps get into the curve of the cheek. E.L.F. brushes are so affordable and such good quality, I definitely recommend them for powder application.
That’s all for this month! I’m hoping to get my hands on a couple items I couldn’t this month to try out throughout February! x
