Fab, Fit, Fresh: Getting on the fitness track in 2018
It’s been quite some time since I made a fitness post on here, but the time has come!
The whole concept of ‘new year, new you’ or making a resolution to hit the gym is usually written off as cliche. However, I can’t think of a better time to start making new habits in your life. Being healthy isn’t a phase or a fad, it’s a commitment to a lifestyle change. It’s hard to commit to, but not if you break down one big goal into smaller, more periodic goals.
Starting this new year, I wanted to get back to living a healthy lifestyle. I want to cook better food, and make habits of fitness routines and working out. My fitness plan got off track due to school work, but this upcoming semester I’ve planned my schedule to have more time to commit to a healthy lifestyle.
Where I’ve been, where I’m going
My biggest issue with fitness programs is having limited time and getting bored. After being a dancer for years, I’ve tried to find a program that suits my fitness goals.
I’ve tried Kayla Itsines’ BBG program and I’ve tried Cassey Ho’s Blogilates in the past couple years. There’s things I like and things I don’t like as much about both of these. For now I’ve decided to go back to Kayla’s BBG for the time being. I’ve had more success with this program, and I have the resources available to do this while I’m at university.
For eating I’m going to be doing more cooking in my kitchen. My apartment kitchen is little but it is fierce! I’m going to be trying all sorts of recipes over the next couple months, and finding ways to swap out the cravings.
I’m really excited for the changes coming soon, and I’ll be sharing them here as we get into the new year. Follow along here to see more. x
