For These Things, I Am Thankful: A Thanksgiving Blog

I think before we reach the most commercialized holiday of the year, it’s important to reflect on the things we’re thankful for.

This holiday, I’ve made a list of the things I’m thankful for. Enjoy down below!

My Family

I am so thankful for my family. My parents are incredibly supportive of all I want to do and hope to achieve, and I am so lucky. My brother is a friend when I need a friend. I am thankful for all my extended family and their support. This year I was lucky enough to see some family that I hadn’t seen in year. I’m so happy I could take some time this year to catch up, and celebrate life’s occasions with them.

My Childhood Friends

I am so thankful for the girls who have stuck by my side since (literally) the first day in the school yard. I’m so happy that even after several years of school we still have time to catch up and hang out. I’m thankful for the text messages, even when we’re in different time zones. I can count on them to make me laugh, and to remind me of the best parts of our days together at school. It’s hard not to miss them, but I know the holidays will be around soon enough when we’ll all get together again.

My College Friends

My family away from family. We take care of each other, make each other laugh, and act as shoulders to cry on when we’re sad. I’m so happy to have a group of friends who deeply care about each other, and to get out on the town and do things with. They keep me laughing, and keep me getting out in the world and trying new things I’m thankful for the friends who have taken me new places, and have gotten me to try new things.

My Opportunities

This year has been tough in many ways, but I’ve learned so much. I’ve been given so many amazing opportunities this year, and I’ve learned so much from each one of them. I’ve had internships, I’ve had opportunities to do really cool things, I’ve had the chance to live in a new place. I can’t wait to see what will come in the next six months!

My Things

I know, this might seem shallow on the surface, but hear me out. I’m thankful to have a place to live while I go to school. I’m thankful to have the right tools and equipment to successfully complete work for school. I am thankful to be able to have a wardrobe that suits my fashion taste, and makeup that allows me to express my choice of appearance.

There’s been so many good things this year to be thankful for, and I hope everyone out there has a chance to meet with friends and family on Thanksgiving and share a meal! xo
