The weather is finally cooling down here in Arizona, and I can finally stop aggressively spraying down my makeup with setting spray.
As we say goodbye to spooky season and hello to family gatherings and holidays, I have a couple favorites to share!
This month is going to be a little different from past months, as I have managed to not pick up any new makeup items during the month of October (which I should mention is highly out of character). So I’ve assembled a list of my five favorites I use in my every day routines!
**All products mentioned in this post have been purchased with my own money. All opinions of them are my own.
Maybelline Ultra Waterproof liner in Black
I don’t think I’ve ever talked about this eyeliner on here before. I was saving it for a whole post on eyeliner, but I’ll give a brief on why this eyeliner is the business.
I’ve been using this eyeliner since I was a sophomore in high school. I was into performing, and needed a liner that wouldn’t sweat off. I saw this was a waterproof liquid liner and gave it a spin.
This liner honestly stays on through it all. Sweat, tears, you name it. I took a venture from it and honestly haven’t found anything comparable on the market.
Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream in Light/Medium
Continuing on this Maybelline role is their BB Cream. I think I picked this up a couple years ago and I haven’t found anything else to compare to it either. I like that it has SPF in it for those sunny days in Arizona. The foundation I use does not have SPF in it, so I layer this on underneath.
I’ve been using this quite a bit recently on it’s own. Usually I layer this and foundation, but since I’ve simplified my routine a bit I’ve been using the BB cream to even my skin tone.
E.L.F. tinted lip balm in Smoochy Spice
I tried to find what this was called and found it wasn’t sold on E.L.F.’s website. I found this at Target and I know I’ve seen it at Forever 21 as well. It’s basically as it says, a tinted lip balm.
I’m a huge fan of the Maybelline Baby Lips tinted lip balms, but this one is a really cool lip balm lip gloss hybrid. It goes on like a lip balm but looks like a subtle lip gloss. It makes my lips so soft and smooth and also the balm itself is minty when it’s applied. It’s only $2 at Target! Definitely a beauty steal!
NYX Tame & Frame Brow pomade in Brunette
I switched to this brow pomade from the E.L.F. one about six months ago, and I really love it! I’ve heard it compared to Anastasia brow pomades before, but unfortunately I have never tried them so I can’t say for sure. I know this product does come in a range of colors so there should be a little something for everyone!
I find for this product the best way to apply is to use an angled brush to shape and fill, and then use a spoolie to brush the product through the brows.
Philosophy – Purity gel facial cleanser
This is my favorite face wash. I believe I’ve mentioned it here before, but it really is the best way to take the day off my face. It reaches down deep through makeup and oil and dirt to leave my skin feeling soft and fresh.
It’s been a favorite for a long time, and like several other things I’ve mentioned on here, I haven’t found anything like it on the market. It’s good for people who have sensitive skin (like me!) and works well with acne prone skin too!
Short and sweet this month with a few good old favorites. The holiday season is starting to roll around and soon enough I might be looking for some holiday favorites!
