The Fit Diaries – August 4
It’s week 11 of my fitness journey, and I’m so excited to be able to share this with you.
The first time I did Kayla Itsines’ Bikini Body Guide, I made it to week 10, and then got too busy to workout. A couple months later I restarted the guides and made it to week 8 before I got busy again and couldn’t finish them. Then I tried a third time, and I made it through the 12 weeks, and immediately gave up on working out.
I’ve now made it to week 11 of my fitness journey and I’m so happy I’ve been able to stay on track this long. I’ve been doing a variety of workouts from machines at the gym, to yoga, to high intensity workouts to Blogilates. I think part of the success comes from keeping myself interested and trying new workouts so I don’t get bored.
I’ve been busy prepping for school, and this week I refreshed my memory on my schedule for next semester. Now last semester, I had hardly any free time. I recall I had a class that ended at 6pm, and I would rush home by 6:30 to get a workout in and then eat dinner.
This semester, I have most of my classes through the 11am to 2pm block, so I’m hoping I’ll be able to get some morning workouts in. Part of being active in college is taking steps to be sure you’re staying active. I usually walk to school, so I get about 30 minutes of exercise a day just walking to and from my apartment to school. Additionally, I try to make time for a workout, just so I get a high intensity workout in that focuses on certain muscle groups.
This week in my fitness journey, I continued working on Blogilates and my normal cardio treadmill running. I kept my goal at 500 calories this week, because the heat sometimes makes it challenging to workout. I’ve done well and met the goal each time. This week’s update was pretty much the same as last weeks, and next week I’m looking to move forward. It might be a little difficult because I’ll be traveling again, but I’m ready for the challenge.
Goals For Next Week:
- Keep up Blogilates
- Keep up running
- Try a new recipe
