The Fit Diaries – July 21
I can’t believe it’s already week nine of my fitness journey! That being said there are some things I’ve found that needed to change. Fitness is an always changing aspect of my life, so I have to search for solutions to keep it interesting.
For some reason this week, my sleeping has been off. Some days I’ve been so exhausted I’ve gone to bed early, and other days I couldn’t fall asleep until way past when I normally do. It made me tired throughout the week, and probably contributed to my feeling unmotivated to workout.
I’ve been feeling really unmotivated to workout lately, and that usually means my routine is getting boring. I decided it was time to change things up just a little to keep it interesting for me. One thing I look for in workouts is when they are intense and happen in a short amount of time. For some reason, this tricks my brain into somehow thinking I’m doing less. An hour long workout sounds so terrible, but a 15 minute one doesn’t sound too bad.
First of all, this week I decided to throw in some Blogilates workouts. If you’re unfamiliar with what Blogilates is, it’s a fitness program created by fitness instructor Cassey Ho. She has a youtube channel and blog with all sorts of plans for working out.
One of the most well known traits about Blogilates is that each month Cassey creates a calendar with exercises to follow along with for the month. This week, I tried a couple of her workout videos for people who live in apartments (or other close quarters with neighbors) and I was really surprised with some of the moves! I definitely didn’t think I’d be sore after 15 minutes of working out, and I was!
I’ll be trying Blogilates for the next couple weeks, and be sharing my detailed thoughts in another blog post. For now, I’ll say I’m confident that I’ll be loving Blogilates in the future!
This week I also worked to prepare food in the kitchen. It’s difficult sometimes when I’m on the go a lot. I managed to do pretty well this week as far as cooking and eating as healthy as possible.
This week it was really important to me to mix up my workouts so I wouldn’t get bored. I think I’m on a better track to trying new things, so I’m definitely looking forward to it.
Goals for Next Week:
- Complete 3 Blogilates video workouts
- Add in cardio to keep mile time down
- Find new recipes for salads (if you have a favorite, link me in the comments!)
Thanks for keeping up with my fitness journey, and I’ll catch up with you guys next week!
